The Southeast Portland Addition & Remodel was a project completed as a designer with Green Gables Design and Restoration. The existing home was a 1950’s ranch in an inner Southeast Portland neighborhood. The clients were a young family looking to renovate their existing home, add additional program to entertain and a second story master suite.

The second story addition provides an expansive, vaulted interior space. Site-built transom windows allow natural light to illuminate both ends of the interior volume, providing a bright and airy master bath suite and bedroom.

On the main floor, the kitchen was rearranged to include a large sliding door connection to a well-established backyard garden. The existing garage was reconstructed to accommodate structural load from the upstairs addition and to allow ample natural light through translucent garage door panels.
